| Russian prescribing information, Selank 0.15% nasal drops (parent)Adults with anxiety states, neurasthenia, asthenia, adjustment and stress disorders | 2 drops into each nostril (solution contains 1.5 mg of Selank diacetate per mL) | 3 times a day | Intranasal drops onto the nasal mucosa, head tilted back, nostril briefly pinched | 14 daysCourse may be repeated after 1-3 weeks on medical advice | Community resource2026 |
| The manufacturer's instruction (registration LSR-003338/09) states 92.8% absolute bioavailability from the nasal mucosa, detection in plasma within 30 seconds and a progressive fall in plasma concentration over 5-5.5 minutes, with no unchanged drug or metabolites found in urine. Listed adverse effects are an unpleasant taste if solution reaches the throat and allergic reactions; the product is sold without prescription in Russia and is not registered for use under 18 or in pregnancy. | |||||
| Comparative trial against medazepam (parent)62 patients with generalized anxiety disorder or neurasthenia (30 on Selank, 32 on medazepam) | Not stated in the indexed English abstract; the registered 0.15% intranasal solution is the only clinical formulation | Not stated in the abstract | Intranasal | Not stated in the abstractNot described | Zhurnal Nevrologii i Psikhiatrii imeni S.S. Korsakova (PubMed)2008 |
| Anxiolytic effects on the Hamilton, Zung and CGI scales were similar to medazepam, and Selank additionally showed anti-asthenic and mildly stimulant effects. The study also found reduced leu-enkephalin half-life in serum of these patients that rose during Selank treatment; it is a Russian-language, single-site trial and remains the main human efficacy study for the peptide. | |||||

| Rat chronic mild stress model with and without diazepam (parent)48 male rats, half exposed to 14 days of unpredictable chronic mild stress | 300 mcg/kg (5 microliters per nostril) | Once daily | Intranasal | 14 daysNot applicable | Behavioural Neurology (PubMed Central)2017 |
| Selank alone was the most effective treatment against anxiety induced by the dosing course itself, while Selank plus 1 mg/kg oral diazepam best preserved behavior under chronic stress, with elevated plus maze scores returning to pre-stress values. The authors chose 300 mcg/kg because earlier rodent work found it the most effective intranasal dose; this is a six-animal-per-group behavioral study. | |||||
| Rat frontal cortex gene expression after a single dose (parent)30 male Wistar rats (10 Selank, 10 GABA, 10 control) | 300 mcg/kg in 6 microliters of water | Single dose, tissue sampled at 1 and 3 hours | Intranasal | Single administrationNot applicable | Frontiers in Pharmacology (PubMed Central)2016 |
| Expression of 84 neurotransmission genes was profiled; Selank and GABA produced overlapping changes, including GABA-A receptor subunit and transporter genes, which the authors took as support for an allosteric GABAergic mechanism. The paper notes that intranasal delivery was chosen as the optimal way to get the peptide into the brain, matching the clinical nasal-drop form. | |||||
| Rat chronic ethanol memory study (parent)Outbred rats given 10% ethanol as their only fluid for 30 weeks, tested at 9 months of age | 0.3 mg/kg per day | Once daily | Intraperitoneal | 7 daysNot applicable | Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine (PubMed)2019 |
| A week of injections improved object recognition in rats not exposed to ethanol and prevented the memory and attention deficits that appeared during alcohol withdrawal, while normalizing BDNF content in the hippocampus and frontal cortex. The route differs from the clinical nasal form and the dose is a weight-based rodent figure. | |||||

| Analog nasal course with washout | 600-900 mcg per day, divided into 2-3 doses of about 300 mcg; many start at 300-600 mcg per day | 2-3 times daily | Intranasal spray in real-world use; subcutaneous figures (300, 600, 900 mcg at 5 mg/mL) given only as a reconstitution exercise | 14 days1-3 week washout, described as a precaution against GABA-receptor desensitization | Community resource2026 |
| This June 2026 chart states that no human trial of the amidate exists and that its figures are extrapolated from parent Selank, with the 14-day course and washout borrowed from the Russian label. It describes the subcutaneous ladder on the page as an educational math reference rather than a validated route. | |||||
| Research-chemical spray and injection chart for the analog | 300 mcg per pump (0.3% spray), 1 pump 2-3 times daily (600-900 mcg per day); 150-300 mcg per day if injected | 2-3 times daily (nasal) or once daily (subcutaneous) | Intranasal spray or subcutaneous injection after reconstitution | Weeks 1-2 on, week 3 washout, weeks 4-5 on1-week washout between 2-week blocks; 2-3 weeks on then 1-3 weeks off also described | Community resource2024 |
| A research-peptide site's 2024 chart notes that the analog is usually sold as a 0.3% spray delivering 300 mcg per pump, caps the nasal schedule at 9 pumps a day, and calls 150-300 mcg daily by injection a conservative choice made in the absence of any dosing or safety data. It states that no evidence supports nasal doses below 300 mcg and that the cycle lengths are copied from parent Selank practice. | |||||
| Vendor and forum conventions for the parent peptide, compared with the label | 200 mcg twice daily; 300 mcg three times daily; 500 mcg subcutaneously | 2-3 times daily, or 5 days on and 2 days off | Intranasal from a reconstituted vial, or subcutaneous | Not fixed; the label's 14 days is the only documented course5 on, 2 off cycles described by vendors; label describes a 1-3 week gap between courses | Community resource2026 |
| A July 2026 pharmacist-written review traces every circulating Selank protocol other than the label posology to vendor pages and forum convention, and could find no registered subcutaneous product or published human injection protocol. It gives the reconstitution arithmetic that reproduces the 0.15% label concentration (10 mg in 6.67 mL, or 5 mg in 3.33 mL) and reports that a ClinicalTrials.gov search in July 2026 returned no Selank trials. | |||||
The registered Russian product is used as 2 drops per nostril three times a day for 14 days, with no titration. The label describes an onset within minutes of absorption but gives no expected timeline for anxiolytic effect across the course.
Community charts for the capped analog run 600-900 mcg a day by nasal spray in 2-3 doses, often starting at 300-600 mcg, for the same two weeks. Users describe calm without sedation as the expected effect, an impression carried over from the parent's Russian trials rather than measured for the analog.
Both the label and the community charts insert a gap after a course: 1-3 weeks before any repeat on the label, and a one-week or 1-3 week washout in the charts, which justify it as avoiding GABA-receptor desensitization. No study has tested whether the gap is needed.
In a 60-patient Russian comparison with phenazepam, the anxiolytic effect of Selank was reported to persist for about a week after the last dose, with a mild nootropic effect alongside. That carry-over is the closest thing to a published duration-of-effect figure and it concerns the parent nasal product.
Vendor material describes repeating two-week blocks indefinitely, 5-days-on 2-days-off patterns and subcutaneous use, none of which has a registered product or human study behind it. The only documented repeat pattern is the label's 14-day course repeated after a 1-3 week interval on medical advice.

N-Acetyl Selank Amidate is a research-chemical derivative of Selank, a seven-amino-acid peptide built from the immune tetrapeptide tuftsin (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg) plus a Pro-Gly-Pro tail, developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences with the Zakusov Institute of Pharmacology. Selank itself is registered in Russia as an over-the-counter 0.15% nasal drop solution for anxiety and asthenic states, and its human evidence consists of small Russian comparative trials against benzodiazepines. The acetyl and amide caps on the analog are intended to slow peptidase breakdown, but no published study, pharmacokinetic or otherwise, has examined the capped molecule; everything below either describes the parent or records vendor conventions for the analog. Neither form is approved by the FDA or EMA, and a 2021 US pharmacology review describes Selank as a poorly studied Russian drug sold to US consumers as a dietary supplement.
